Digital Elph - Information And Resources

The Digital IXUS IXY Digital in Japan and PowerShot Digital ELPH in US and Canada is a series of digital cameras released by Canon. The Digital IXUS series, based on the design of Canons IXUSIXYELPH line of APS cameras, is a line of ultracompact cameras.

Personally, I would look at the brand and size. If you stick with the popular brands like Sony, Canon, Nikon, etc, youll get a decent camera no matter the megapixels. Theyre usually easy to use and definitely easy to carry. The easier you can carry a camera, the more likely youll have it with you to take that great picture. Of course price is a factor.

300 for a good digital camera. Spend the most you can afford because a good digital camera will last you several years as long as you take good care of it. You attach the lens and use the cameras own zoom.

Digital Camcorders I looked at, so probably any MiniDV camecorder will be just fine. You can find articles and reviews on them plus they are on close out so you can save some cash. DVD you might consider one of the models that writes directly to that format, but I dont know as much about them and they dont appear to be as popular. It may not be formatted for your every day DVD player either by default. Now, if you meant digital camera with movie recording capabilities, well, good luck my friend. My personal favorite in the camera that doubles as a camcorder is the Canon Digital Elph series.

16 x 9, but really its just a macro that is costing you resolution, so no big deal. To conclude on this category, video on the camera has nothing to do with the number of megapixels.

The resolution really only kicks in on the pictures. The memory and speed required to record larger resolutions in the megapixel range would be extraordinary.

Anyway, read the reference source which should provide you most of the information you need. Before I go, another nice thing about the canons that doesnt appeal to everybody is that they will take 320 resolution clips at 60 fps for capturing sports action. This is excelent for analyzing things like golf swings and the like, plus its very affordable as such a tool.
